ALTITUDE HOME INSPECTION INC.

ABOUT RADON
Radon is an odorless, tasteless, naturally occurring
radioactive gas produced during the natural decay of uranium
in soil, rock and water. The EPA estimates that radon
exposure may cause 21,000 lung cancer deaths per year. The
EPA and The Surgeon General recommend ALL homes be
tested for radon.

Most of the counties in Colorado are rated high risk for radon.

All company members have taken the Radon Measurement
Operator course given by the Western Regional Radon Training
Center at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.

All company members have passed the Residential Radon
Measurement Provider exam given by the National Radon
Proficiency Program (NRPP), National Environmental Health
Association (NEHA).

At Altitude Home Inspection we use an electronic device known
as a continuous radon monitor (CRM), which gives us the results
at the end of the test, instead of having to wait several days for
the results such as when charcoal canisters are used.

"Closed-building" conditions are needed for a radon test. This
means no windows open and only normal exit or entry for the
duration of the test which is a minimum of 48 hours. Closed
building conditions also need to exist 12 hours prior to the
starting of the test or the test will need to be extended by 12
hours.
